Helping a Medical Packaging business create enduring IT infrastructure.

The challenge

Our client, a specialist in medical products and packaging, was experiencing serious  issues with their legacy IT infrastructure. Outages and poor system performances had become a common occurrence and the legacy vendor was failing to address the problems in a satisfactory way. Consequently, the organisation’s ability to do business as usual was regularly compromised.

The outcome

Infinet carried out an audit of the business IT infrastructure to determine how the company operates,  the systems and processes that were in place and, critically, what was missing. Once completed, an IT road-map was developed to upgrade and enhance existing systems utilising Microsoft, IBM and Checkpoint.

Infinet worked hand-in-hand with the client to identify the optimal IT strategy and implementation, which resulted in both the stabilisation and significant improved performance of the network. We were also able to determine a strategy to reduce ongoing support costs by recommending the use of a layered methodology for their network security, along with the introduction of a new set of standards for the maintenance of their desktop and laptop fleet. This refreshed technical implementation and the upgrade of existing systems saved the client further IT expenditure and substantially reduced ongoing support costs.
